I received my professional dance training with the Royal Ballet with whom I performed for several

years before discovering Flamenco. This took me to London and Spain where I took classes with

Rafaela Carrasco, Angel Munoz, Felipe de Mato, Pepa Molina, La Tati, Felipe Gonzalez, Gemma

Cruz, Ester Tal, Olga Pericet and Angela Alonso amongst others.

I hold the professional dance teaching qualifications CDE and LISTD with distinction.

Flamenco classes cater for complete beginners as well as those with some experience.

Most of my teaching is in the southwest but I have given workshops further afield including

New Students: it is best to wear a strong shoe (or boot) with a low square heel. This enables you

to do the rhythmic footwork better. Character shoes or Tap shoes are fine as a starter. A long skirt is

traditional for females, but not essential for beginners.

Performance Opportunities for Students

Students are encouraged to perform when they feel ready, at charity events, school fetes or summer festivals etc.

 School Workshops

If you are a looking for a School Workshop I have plenty of experience running these and can offer a  great learning experience for children!

Typically a School Workshop will include a short presentation by myself with a guitarist, followed by a brief talk about flamenco, its history and influences, with a colourful display of costumes and accessories.

Students are introduced to basic flamenco rhythms and steps, then learn a short  dance sequence suitable to their age group, which they can perform for each other - excellent for developing coordination and self-confidence !
